Meet the Author
Welcome! I’m Tori, an independent author with a deep love for all things Southern, gothic, spooky, and—ironically enough—rooted in Jesus. Some consider me a bit of a paradox, as I use horror and stories involving the paranormal to convey messages of faith, hope, and the beautiful truth that we don’t have to endure the trials—and horrors!—of this life alone. I strive to remind my readers that in the face of darkness, there is hope—a shining Light the darkness cannot overcome. (John 1:5) Not a follower of Christ? Not a problem. Fear, loss, trauma, feelings of worthlessness and shame—these experiences are universal, and I have it on good authority from many non-believers that my books are for everyone, no matter their religious affiliation or background.
My debut novel, Calling Eldritch Hayes—a paranormal thriller, which delves into topics such as demonic possession, addiction, grief, and religious trauma—was originally published in May of 2024. In October of the following year, I released my sophomore novel, No One Lives in Alva Anymore—a werewolf thriller I wrote to explore questions surrounding love, identity, and the nature of God’s saving grace. After recent changes in my life, I decided to republish them both in 2026 under my true name and with slight revisions.
As a South Carolina native, my love for the Palmetto State and fascination with its rich—albeit, dark and complicated—history bleeds through every keystroke and splashes onto every page. Here I was born, and here I will remain. When I’m not writing, you can usually find me bingeing true crime docs, Buffy, or Daredevil at home with my three cats (Abby, Bones, and Scout) and rough collie (Jamie); or at church, where I serve as the contemporary music director. Although I have a degree in music from the University of South Carolina, telling stories remains my greatest artistic passion, and I consider it a wonderful privilege to share them with you.
Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you’ll join me as I continue my author journey.
